Injection molded ASA plastic with UV resistance, rated from -40°F to 150°F (-40°C to 65°C). Patented drain holes prevent water buildup on the dish surface. The low, slender design keeps the OEM surface fully exposed, allowing for signal and heat transfer to continue completely unhindered.

Works Great With

Trucks & Cars
Low-profile and form-fitting, it won't snag on branches or clearance bars. Works with magnetic, suction, VHB, or through-bolt attachment — whatever your rig needs.

RVs
A dedicated Starlink RV Flatmount. Works on fiberglass and aluminum rooftops. VHB Landing Pads provide a permanent solution, with professional-grade Magnets for removable and tool-free use.

Vans & Overlanders
For van conversions and overland rigs. The TRIO Flatmount sits tight to the roof and keeps the dish protected during travel, and comes off quickly.

Boats
If your water-rig is utilizing a Standard Starlink, TRIO Flatmount installs in minutes using Heavy-Duty Suction Cups. No drilling, no damage.

Non-Flat or Ridged Roof? Read This Before Mounting

If your vehicle's roof has raised ridges or contours, any attachment may not achieve full contact with the roof surface, and full contact is required for a secure hold. Without it, the mount can detach at highway speeds. If your roof has ridges, we recommend:

  • Ensuring all attachment points are flush and fully in contact with the roof before driving
  • Testing the mount at low speeds before highway use

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the Gen 3 Standard Flatmount hold in high winds and dusty conditions?

Yes. The Gen 3 Standard Flatmount is engineered and tested for high-wind and rough-condition use. As long as you've installed it on a clean surface and the mount doesn't budge when you give it a firm push, you're good to go. If you've chosen suction cups as your attachment method, give the suction a quick check before any drive.

I'm mounting to an aluminum surface. What attachment should I use for the Gen 3 Standard Flatmount?

Attaching the Gen 3 Standard Flatmount on an aluminum body, you've got a few options depending on how permanent you want the install. Aluminum is non-ferrous, so:

For a permanent install, go with our VHB Adhesive Landing Pads. They bond directly to the aluminum.

For semi-permanent, pair our Rubber-Coated Magnets with our VHB Metal Discs. The disc bonds to the aluminum and the magnet locks onto the disc, giving you a strong hold you can still remove later.

Heavy-Duty Suction Cups are also an option if you want a fully removable setup.

I'm mounting on a fiberglass roof. How do I attach the Gen 3 Standard Flatmount?

Attaching the Gen 3 Standard Flatmount on a fiberglass roof, you've got a few options since fiberglass is also non-ferrous, same setup as aluminum:

For a permanent install, use our VHB Adhesive Landing Pads. They bond directly to the fiberglass.

For semi-permanent, pair our Rubber-Coated Magnets with our VHB Metal Discs. The disc bonds to the fiberglass, and the magnet locks onto the disc.

Heavy-Duty Suction Cups also work if you want a fully removable setup.

Are the magnets strong enough?

Yes. Each magnet has 60 lbs of holding force, so all 4 magnets together hold up to 240 lbs. To remove them, slide them side to side with a bit of force rather than pulling straight up.

I have a curved roof. What do I use for the Gen 3 Standard Flatmount?

Go with our Swivel Leg Mount Adapters. Each leg gets independent movement so the mount can conform to a curved surface and sit flush without rocking.

I have a Ford with an aluminum roof. Will the Gen 3 Standard Flatmount work?

Attaching the Gen 3 Standard Flatmount on a Ford roof, most Ford trucks newer than 2016 have an aluminum roof, which is non-ferrous, so you've got a few options depending on how permanent you want the install:

For a permanent install, go with our VHB Adhesive Landing Pads. They bond directly to the aluminum.

For semi-permanent, pair our Rubber-Coated Magnets with our VHB Metal Discs. The disc bonds to the aluminum and the magnet locks onto the disc, giving you a strong hold you can still remove later.

Heavy-Duty Suction Cups are also an option if you want a fully removable setup.

Yes, the Gen 3 Standard Flatmount will hold if you choose one of the above.

Can the Gen 3 Standard Flatmount go through a car wash?

We don't recommend it. The mount is built to handle weather and road grime, but automatic car washes put extra stress on the dish and attachment points with high-pressure jets and rotating brushes. Remove the dish (and the Gen 3 Standard Flatmount if you're going through a touchless or brush wash) before you head in, then reinstall once you're out.

How do I power the Gen 3 Standard Flatmount?

Depends on your setup. We make two 12V power options for the Gen 3 Standard.

If you're keeping the Starlink Gen 3 router, use our Gen 3 12V Power Supply. It plugs directly into the router and runs it off your 12V or 24V system, saving 30 to 50 watts of waste from running it through an inverter.

If you're running an aftermarket router instead, use our Gen 3 12V Conversion Box. It eliminates the Starlink router entirely and powers the dish through a built-in POE injector, saving an additional 15 watts.

Does the Gen 3 Standard Flatmount come with attachments?

No, the Gen 3 Standard Flatmount doesn't come with attachments. You pick the attachment method separately so it fits your vehicle and use case. Options include Rubber-Coated Magnets, VHB Metal Discs, VHB Adhesive Landing Pads, Heavy-Duty Suction Cups, and Swivel Leg Mount Adapters.

How do I remove the dish from the Gen 3 Standard Flatmount?

The Gen 3 Standard dish slides into the Flatmount via its removable kickstand. To release it, you need to access and depress the kickstand tab.

If your mount is attached with magnets or suction cups, you can lift the whole assembly off the vehicle and release the dish easily.

If your mount is hard-mounted with through-bolts or VHB landing pads, the tab becomes hard to reach once installed. Use our Kickstand Release Lever for that. It's a 3D printed tool that reaches the tab safely and releases the dish without risking damage to the dish or the mount.

The lever is included when you order the Flatmount with through-bolt or VHB landing pad options. Otherwise, it's sold separately.

Do you have a guarantee?

Yes. Every TRIO mount purchased directly from trioflatmount.com is covered by our TRIO Lifetime Guarantee. If your mount ever fails, send photos or video of the issue along with your order number to contact@trioflatmount.com and we'll take care of it.
