Description

The TRIO Mini Flatmount is the perfect, low profile solution for mounting your StarlinkMini dish in a secure and convenient way. With various mounting options, you can take the Mini wherever you need to go. Simply click your dish into the Mini Flatmount and begin your adventure!

This mount, manufactured by industrial-grade injection molding, from ASA, is intended for permanent or temporary installation on any vehicle: Vans, RVs, Box Trucks, Campers, Boats, Sailboats, etc, and even allows you to strap the Mini onto your backpack!

NOTE: If you have a curved roof, the mount itself has slight flex but you may need to use our swivel leg adapters for maximum surface area contact when using rubber coated magnets, VHB landing pads, or suction cups. Please add to your order if required.

** Strength: This mount has been designed to be used (and has been tested) in normal driving conditions and turbulence but it is recommended to install behind another item (e.g. AC unit, storage box, etc) for wind dampening and to protect the dish. It is ultimately up to the end user to make sure the antenna mount is secured appropriately.

Non-Flat or Ridged Roof? Read This Before Mounting

If your vehicle's roof has raised ridges or contours, any attachment may not achieve full contact with the roof surface, and full contact is required for a secure hold. Without it, the mount can detach at highway speeds. If your roof has ridges, we recommend:

  • Ensuring all attachment points are flush and fully in contact with the roof before driving
  • Testing the mount at low speeds before highway use

Will the Mini Flatmount hold in high winds and dusty conditions?

Yes. The Mini Flatmount is engineered and tested for high-wind and rough-condition use. As long as you've installed it on a clean surface and the mount doesn't budge when you give it a firm push, you're good to go. If you've chosen suction cups as your attachment method, give the suction a quick check before any drive.
I'm mounting to an aluminum surface. What attachment should I use for the Mini Flatmount?

Attaching the Mini Flatmount on an aluminum body, you've got a few options depending on how permanent you want the install. Aluminum is non-ferrous, so:

For a permanent install, go with our VHB Adhesive Landing Pads. They bond directly to the aluminum.

For semi-permanent, pair our Rubber-Coated Magnets with our VHB Metal Discs. The disc bonds to the aluminum and the magnet locks onto the disc, giving you a strong hold you can still remove later.

Heavy-Duty Suction Cups are also an option if you want a fully removable setup.
I'm mounting on a fiberglass roof. How do I attach the Mini Flatmount?

Attaching the Mini Flatmount on a fiberglass roof, you've got a few options since fiberglass is also non-ferrous, same setup as aluminum:

For a permanent install, use our VHB Adhesive Landing Pads. They bond directly to the fiberglass.

For semi-permanent, pair our Rubber-Coated Magnets with our VHB Metal Discs. The disc bonds to the fiberglass, and the magnet locks onto the disc.

Heavy-Duty Suction Cups also work if you want a fully removable setup.
Are the magnets strong enough?

Yes. Each magnet has 60 lbs of holding force, so all 4 magnets together hold up to 240 lbs. To remove them, slide them side to side with a bit of force rather than pulling straight up.
I have a curved roof. What do I use for the Mini Flatmount?

Go with our Swivel Leg Mount Adapters. Each leg gets independent movement so the mount can conform to a curved surface and sit flush without rocking.
I have a Ford with an aluminum roof. Will the Mini Flatmount work?

Attaching the Mini Flatmount on a Ford roof, most Ford trucks newer than 2016 have an aluminum roof, which is non-ferrous, so you've got a few options depending on how permanent you want the install:

Can the Mini Flatmount go through a car wash?

We don't recommend it. The mount is built to handle weather and road grime, but automatic car washes put extra stress on the dish and attachment points with high-pressure jets and rotating brushes. Remove the dish (and the Mini Flatmount if you're going through a touchless or brush wash) before you head in, then reinstall once you're out.
How do I power the Mini Flatmount?

Use our Mini 12V DC Power Cable. It's heavy-duty and low-profile enough that you can close a door on it without crushing the cable.

Available in 10ft and 15ft lengths. End options are bare wire leads, ring terminals, or a cigarette lighter plug. The cigarette lighter plug is our most popular.
Does the Mini Flatmount come with attachments?

No, the Mini Flatmount doesn't come with attachments. You pick the attachment method separately so it fits your vehicle and use case. Options include Rubber-Coated Magnets, VHB Metal Discs, VHB Adhesive Landing Pads, Heavy-Duty Suction Cups, and Swivel Leg Mount Adapters.

Pretty Amazed ! Well built mount

Amazing mount only downside and i just figured out my truck isn’t magnetic so purchasing the suction cups one now but sturdy mount and connects to the starlink pretty smoothly I 100% trust this mount with the life of my starlink mini and i will recommend more people to this brand thank you trio. ps. They are a little pricey but i’ve had other slightly cheaper mount fail quickly and feel flimsy this one feels legit.

Amazing mount

Just did a 2500mi trip with the mag mount. 90mph at times and it never budged. Starlink is a gamechanger for trips to wild areas!

Simple, elegant and effective mount

Very simple and effective mount for the roof of my Sprinter. I got rid of my pointless roof rack to make room for solar panels, so loved the fact that this set right onto the roof next to my A/C unit, Definitely not going anywhere and I love that it’s molded plastic rather than metal. The Starlink Mini snaps easily and securely into place.

It was “ok”. Definitely done on a 3d printer which is fine. The finish though was rough. Once installed on the antenna though you can’t remove it. Otherwise itvwas as advertised.

Expensive when purchased from Australia

This is an excellent mount for intended purpose. It appears to be 3D printed and finish is a little rough in some places but doesn't affect function. Opted for magnetic mount with magnetic/VHB disc pads for composite caravan roof. Mount can easily be removed from magnetic pads and then optionally used on another vehicle or metal surface using magnetic mounts. Magnetic strength is rock solid and will not move during motion. A great solution for us, but international shipping costs to Australia took the shine off purchase and would have pulled the plug if I hadn't invested so much time reviewing and researching product. Lastly, the mini is difficult to remove from the mount and I forgot to order the little tool available as an extra, but don't intend to remove it very often or at all. Hope this helps potential purchases from O/S. Would I purchase again? Yes.

Great Mount

Super clean install with magnet/VHB tape. Did not plan on keeping the Mini in the Flatmount 100% of the time. Not sure how difficult it will be to remove Mini from Flatmount.

Perfect Product

The Trio Flatmount arrived in Australia in less than a week. It was everything that I expected but way stronger. The rubberised magnets are very powerful and once fitted did not move even at speed. The mount clipped into the mini easily and was also easily removed with the removal tool that made separation a dream. Our mini performed 100% when mounted. This is a quality product, robust and reliable. I would highly recommend the Trio Flatmount

Feels like minor mold modification is in order. Believe there is about a 30% chance one day my dish will become a kite.

So far so good

The magnet mount is solid. The rubber covering on them is a nice touch. It takes some care to get the mount off the vehicle, because it adheres so well. The 12 volt cord is also working well, the rubber covering on the barrel end was a little too snug, but a little trimming I was on the road with wifi!
