Power your Starlink Mini directly from a 12V battery, no wall adapter and no dropouts. The TRIO Mini 12V DC Power Cable runs the Starlink Mini straight off any 12V to 48V DC source, built for trucks, vans, RVs, boats, and off-grid setups.

The Starlink Mini accepts 12V to 48V input, but thin factory cables lose power at the low end. Voltage drops over small gauge wire and the dish gets unstable or won't turn on. We solved that with heavy 14 AWG ultra marine-grade wiring that keeps power steady all the way to the dish, even on longer runs.

Running off DC also skips the inverter. No converting battery power to AC and back to DC. That means less wasted power and a simpler, more reliable setup for mobile and solar systems.

The oversized weatherproof barrel connector seals against moisture at the dish port and plugs in alongside the original Mini kickstand. The cable is built tough enough to take real mobile abuse. You can slam a door on it and it keeps running.

Choose the end type that fits your setup. Cigarette lighter plug is the easiest plug-and-play option for vehicles. Ring terminal is ideal for permanent battery installs. Bare wire is best for custom or fused wiring.

Why won't my Starlink Mini power on?

Common causes:

  • Insufficient voltage–vehicle turns off, voltage goes down. Or, aux battery drains and the voltage is lower than expected.
  • Loose connection–this creates heat and lowers voltage because of the electrical resistance
  • Incorrect polarity on custom wiring with ring terminals or bare wire, or a faulty cigarette receptacle–this has the potential to burn out the Starkink Mini, damaging it irreparably. 

Check that the blue light on the dish turns on after connection.
Is the barrel connector reversible?

No. Make sure the connector is fully seated and aligned before powering the system.

sturdy and effective plug and play

I bought the original storyteller cord 3/25. It worked, after I modified it (starlink connection was too fat to connect) After discussing with TRIO, they sent me their new upgraded cord. It was plug/play to install. Beefier cord with better plug into the starlink. Bonus that it also eliminates the interference with starlink when using the macerator. 10/10 service!

I’m giving this power cable 3 stars because it doesn’t stay connected to my Starlink very well. While driving, it tends to slip out, and I’ve had to pull over multiple times just to readjust it. It works, but the connection isn’t secure enough for reliable use.

New Cable is Great

The quality of the cable and plug on this is great.

I purchased the original style of this cable a while back, and was not pleased with it. After reaching out to customer support, Mark was able to give me this new cable early and it is of great quality. Would definitely recommend this if hooking this up to a 12V system.

easy to install

The plug fits very tightly into our starlink and wasn't seated all the way at first so we had no power. Once we got it in there everything came together seamlessly. assembled all pieces, plugged it all in, set it down with the adhesives. Turned on the inverter and aux 1 button and we were in business after our starlink mini updated. Most time consuming part was unscrewing the solar panel to access the aux port. Took less than 40 minutes if you didn't count the power troubleshooting or the starlink update. Everything looks nice and tidy and secure.

We have a 2024 storyteller and they were able to provide the exact connection needed. Thanks so much!

Nice mount.

I have it put together but separated from my Starlink Mini at the moment. However, will be making a x-country trip with this tomorrow and hope it will do the job for me. The mount came to my home quickly and in good condition. I have it all put together and ready to use. Quality of material is very nice. One of the magnets got away from me and found it's way to one of my welding tables and I had to use "unnecessary force" to get the thing back off the table. That said, I'm confident with 4 of them on a metal roof I will have no problems with it in strong winds. I may never get it off again but I will deal with that later. Thanks for a good tool.
