Description
Our Gen 3 12V Power Supply plugs directly into the Gen 3 Starlink router and runs your dish straight off a 12V or 24V battery. No inverter needed. Powering Starlink through a large inverter wastes idle draw (30 to 50 watts on a 3000W inverter), which adds up to hours of lost battery life when you are off-grid. This power supply cuts that loss by converting your battery power directly to the voltage Starlink needs.
Simply unplug the 110V Starlink power supply and plug in our 336W power supply, then connect it to a 12V OR 24V power source (input voltage range is 10 to 30V). Our converter boosts this to the 56V that the Gen 3 router and dish need. It also continuously regulates voltage, so the dish gets stable power even as battery voltage shifts. A small indicator light is built into the converter, making setup and install much easier by confirming the unit is powered and running.
After testing numerous power supplies we finally had one manufactured overseas. To eliminate any concern about ripple voltage (and subsequent dropouts and/or reduced speeds), we install a capacitor as well as the appropriate barrel connector that works seamlessly with the Starlink Gen 3 router. Off-the-shelf converters did not hold up, so we built our own with the correct output, filtering, and connector for reliable Gen 3 operation.
Power consumption tested over 1 hour with constant upload/download internet: 63 Wh (4.5A at 13.8V). Actual draw varies with usage and environment.
** NOTE: Using snow melt function draws an additional 120W and cannot be used with cigarette lighter plug as most vehicles have a 10A limit.
** If wanting to extend the barrel connector length, we recommend adding a barrel connector extension. For input power wiring, size the wire properly based on the added length and current.
Please select the appropriate connector for your application from the drop down: bare wire leads, ring terminals, or cigarette lighter plug (must be 15A or greater cig plug). Bare wire is ideal for custom installs. Ring terminals are ideal for direct battery connections. Cigarette plug is the easiest option with a properly rated outlet.
Important Information
Compatible with Starlink Gen 3, 4, and 4X Standard that use the Gen 3 router. Not compatible with the Starlink Mini, which already accepts 12V to 48V DC directly. For the Mini, use the Mini 12V DC Power Cable instead. Standard 4 uses the Mini Router and Standard 4X uses a different router and connector configuration that is not compatible. If you are unsure which router you have, compare it against the photos at starlink.com/specifications, or send us pictures of your dish and router and we will verify before you order.
The unit ships pre-assembled and ready to install with your selected connection type. It is sold as a complete unit, so individual internal components and connectors are not available separately.
Troubleshooting. If your battery reads 12V but Starlink won't power on, the issue is almost always voltage drop under load rather than the power supply itself. A battery can show full voltage at rest and still sag once the dish starts drawing power. Check wiring size (the most common cause), state of charge, fuse condition, ground connections, connection quality, and any corrosion in the circuit. Testing directly from a known good battery helps isolate wiring problems.

This seems to work flawlessly in my camper van. Connected where a 12v plug was, added a 15a fuse and powers my system with no drops. Compact enough it took up very little space, probably half of the a/c brick. Picture is of my clean, final install.
We’re using it for our Gen 3 Starlink in a travel trailer. Set it up with a switch so we can shut it off when not in use. We spend most of our camping off-grid and using this allows us to connect without turning on the inverter and prolong battery life. Great addition to our off-grid upgrades. Highly recommend it.
This device works perfectly to power our Gen 3 Starlink when boondocking. We spliced in some longer cables so it sits in our wet bay and the cables reach our RV battery. Now we can still work off-grid!

This product completely transformed how I use Starlink G3 in my RV. I no longer have to worry about the extra power draw from an inverter. About two weeks ago, the power supply was damaged when I restarted my house power. I like to boondock, but I would have to leave the invertor on all the time to plug into 110 volt. This was easy to install. I tied it in at the fuse block with it's own fuse. I added a on/off switch to save more power when not needed. Thanks Trio!

I purchased this device so that I could easily travel with my Starlink Gen 3 dish. I plug it into a Goal Zero 700 using the car plug. Power consumption is less than using the AC plug as advertised. My only complaint is that the Cigarette lighter plug pops out of the GZ. It is not a design problem; the plug is built strong and pushes itself out. This is not a major problem as I need to remember to plug it in all the way, let it slide a little, and then it stays in place. I like the red light to show power is flowing. As I mentioned, the device is built strong. I have had it plugged in for hours and it doesn't get very hot.
I'm delighted to share my experience with this product. After spending hours researching on YouTube and various forums, I decided to try a DIY solution, only to discover it wouldn’t work with the Gen3 I just ordered. Feeling a bit discouraged, I was thrilled to find out about this converter. I had a few questions late in the evening around 9 PM, and to my surprise, they were promptly answered.
I ended up having an extended conversation with their team, who were incredibly helpful. They even customized the converter for me, swapping the ring connectors for an SAE plug to better suit my trailer setup. The customer service was outstanding, the product shipped quickly, and it arrived exactly when I expected it.
The system is incredibly simple to use and has been perfect for powering our Gen3 while boondocking. It’s all about conserving power, and with this setup, there's no need to build anything yourself or alter the original equipment. It’s truly plug-and-play! I highly recommend it to anyone in a similar situation.
Bought the power supply for use in our RV. We cannot afford to waste any battery power while boondocking, so running Starlink without using the inverter is ideal. Bypassing the inverter saves the power burned by the inverter itself. Saves about a third or more of the total draw.
After picking up Trio's new Gen 3 Speedmount for our new dish, we also wanted to go 12v this time around. With Trio's product it's near plug and play, we are using the factory Starlink router to save some money so we simply picked up a dual sided barrel connector, one end plugs into the Factory Router, the other into the 12v Converter. Then all you need to do is run the positive and negative leads to your 12v fuse panel (or whatever you distribute 12v loads off of). Was literally a 30 minute job to mount, wire and be done. Our 5kw inverter pulls 25-30wH on average, times that 12-14hrs a day 6 days a week and you have a massive reduction in power consumption! Thanks Trio
