The Amazon Leo Wi-Fi Router Is Here
We already know what the satellite dishes for Amazon Leo will look like. Now we know what the router looks like too.
On Monday, the Federal Communications Commission published images of the router, six months after Amazon secured regulatory approval to sell the device in the US (credits PCMag for spotting the filing). The 180-day confidentiality window on the FCC documents has expired, and the disclosures are public.

A basic, box-shaped device
The router goes by model name L1LA10 and is branded as the "E1." It's a basic, box-shaped device. White, square-ish, with rounded corners. Per ISPreview, the FCC filing puts it at 16cm wide and 17cm long.
It supports Wi-Fi 6 and a mesh mode. A newly disclosed user manual in the FCC filing also confirms Bluetooth Low Energy and ZigBee wireless protocol support, which positions the E1 as a smart home hub on top of being a satellite router.
Three ports on the back
The back of the router has three ports:

A second Ethernet port specifically for the dish
The dish-to-router connection is wired, not wireless. That's a notable choice. It matches how Starlink connects its Gen 3 dish to the router, and it keeps signal stability high for users on the move.

What's in the box
According to ISPreview, the router ships with a LINE TEK power cable and a Luxshare Cat 5e Ethernet cable for the dish.
The FCC reference photos give a sense of scale. The dish Ethernet cable is significantly longer than the power cable, suggesting Amazon is anticipating the kind of long cable runs that real-world Starlink installs already deal with: dish on the roof, router inside the cabin, often with twenty or thirty feet of cable in between.

What's inside
A separate FCC filing shows the router's internal components. There's a sizable AC/DC power supply unit inside, labeled "Made in China." The Wi-Fi work is handled by three Qualcomm chips: the QCN 6112, IPQ5018, and QCA8061. There's also around 4GB of flash memory from SkyHigh.
It's a production-grade build, not a prototype. That's the clearest signal yet that the consumer launch is close.

Where Leo stands right now
According to ISPreview, Amazon has roughly 300 satellites in orbit. About 500 are needed for basic global coverage. The full constellation is approved for 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit at altitudes between 590km and 630km, with the network expected to cost up to around $20 billion to deliver.
PCMag reports Leo is slated to launch this summer. First customers will likely receive the router bundled with their dish, though pricing has not been disclosed.
Three antenna tiers are coming:

Leo Nano: portable, lightweight, for casual or mobile use

Leo Pro: the standard residential and small business unit

Leo Ultra: enterprise-focused, designed for 1 Gbps speeds
The E1 router will likely pair with the Leo Pro, not the Ultra. Tim Belfall, a director at UK-based Starlink installer Westend WiFi, told PCMag the Ultra will be closer in performance to the Starlink Performance dish and would need a "much beefier PSU" than the E1 provides.
What this means for the mounting category
The reveals are happening in order. First the Ultra antenna. Then the Pro and Nano. Now the router. The consumer rollout is getting closer.
For anyone planning to put Leo on a truck, RV, van, or boat, the mounting problem is going to look familiar. Different antenna shape. Same constraints. Keep it low. Keep it secure. Don't drill holes in your vehicle to do it.
